More than thirty years ago, Myron S. Lewis, then vice-president of a major pharmaceutical company, traveled extensively overseas with Dr. Vernon Williams - head of research and product development for the same company.  Each year they made several trips to Asia, the Orient, Europe and South America. During these trips their bodies were under considerable stress, troubled by fatigue and loss of efficiency due to constant time-zone changes and jet lag.

As part of his work, Dr. Williams closely followed worldwide nutritional research. He began to wonder if there could be a nutritional solution to these problems. Jet lag is a common cause of stress. A nutritional product capable of addressing such concerns would be of great benefit both under normal circumstances and in today's fast-paced and polluted world.

The two men discussed the project frequently on their trips together and gradually ideas began to gel. Months of research led to a product being formulated in the laboratory. This modest brown powder would come to be known as “Staminex.” Lewis recalls, “when we put this product together, we knew it would be exceptional ­ it was designed that way: strictly engineered nutrition. We did it for ourselves, so why make compromises for the sake of taste, convenience or other cosmetics? There were more important problems to solve, like how to get oil into a water-soluble powder.”

For several years Lewis, Williams, their families and friends were the only users of this "private" product. The results were so impressive that Mr. Lewis decided to make it available to the general public. In 1973, Staminex, Inc. was formed to produce and distribute their new product. As additional nutritional supplements continued to be developed and marketed, the name was later changed to Lewis Laboratories International Ltd.

In 1976, Myron married Diana Franklin and together they began research into other nutritional products. They searched for the best raw materials, processed them with care and created truly superior products. The Lewises also took into account the unique synergistic qualities of nutrients, i.e., the effects of combining nutrients to achieve greater results than when the same nutrients are taken on an individual basis. They began to formulate complete nutritional supplements, each one unique and each of superior quality. These products have been in use worldwide for the past 30 years.

Myron Lewis passed away in 1999; however, the high quality products developed by Lewis Laboratories International Ltd., continue to be available to the public under the directorship of his partner and widow, Diana Lewis. Her uncompromising attention to quality and detail ensures success for the company and its customers well into the future.
